The new D071x is a multifunctional module for industry, development, universities As we are offering a elegant housing together with an optional membrane keypad for this module it is also very useful for smaller for a low volume production. The multi-bus functionality allows a flexible usage. No matter if RS232, RS485, CAN bus, IČC or SPI: The new D071x always feels at home. With this brand new D071x you may deliver quickly solutions like:
- handheld unit for reading out sensor data at various devices
- handheld unit for setting up machines / devices
- data logging over a long peroid to a regular SD memory card (for reading: just plug into your PC and open the file(s) e.g. with a spreadsheet program)
- display unit for sensor data, measurements, status data etc.

For allowing a wide span of application, the D071x is offering a lot of different options you may choose from. Thus you are able to tailor YOUR individual module. Overview about the D071x options:
- Microcontroller with 128 or 256 Kyte of program memory and 4 / 8 Kbyte RAM as long as 4 KByte of Eeprom
- 50 ports of the microcontroller can be used for your own needs (each single port can be used as an input and an output - you decide in your program)
- 8 ports with a analog-digital coupler (1ß bit) for reading our analog data (e.g. temperatur sensor)
- brilliant and bright 2.1" TFT color display with a resolution of 176x132 pixel and 65536 colors. This display is a transflective TFT so it can be read also in bright light (outdoor usage!) (and in low light situations of course)
- display lighting can be switched on/off or dimmed by the microcontroller
- elegant housing (with optional battery compartment) available (this PCB was tailored to this housing)
- SD card module available on our board
- Real time clock (buffered with lithium cell for several years) - always the correct date and time available

This product includes software samples / driver Basic (Bascom) and C (WinAVR) for the display library. Clock and SD card code is available for Bascom. 
The hardware manual is actually only available in German (the programmers manual is in English). The German 80 page manual of the D071x can be previewed here. Caution: >80 pages; Size 7 Mbyte The English version will be finished probably end of August 2009.
All ports are available in a 2,54mm space (0,1") so you may use standard connectors or framed connectors. ISP and JTAg ports are also included. The board runs on 8 MHz, you can expand this to 16 MHz by just soldering a crystal to the prepared board. The ATMega microcontroller is a often used standard controller and offers you:

- The software (display library) we deliver is written in C and Basic so anybody can easily adapt it to its solution. We did not use special commands etc. - so do not be afraid of porting it to other systems or languages. It could be done very quickly without any hassle. Even a beginner can adapt it to any other system or programming language.
