 Build with SMD components this ISP programing adapter is beeing used to send your compiled program from your PC (serial port / RS232) to the mikrocontroller.
This set consists of:
- RS232 ISP programming interface (our item E-H003b)
- USB - RS232 adapter including cable and driver CD (Windows XP usually does not need any driver)
The USB adapter needs to be connected to the USB interface of your PC and with our serial programmer. The USB adapter simulates then a serial interface at your PC. We tested several combinations - not any USB-serial adapter works with the serial programming interface. This one does!

This adapter is compatible to the standard AVR910 so this dongle can be used with practically any programming software. Comment: Bascom does not support AVR910 programmer very well so you better use the interface software we are shipping on our CD (AVR Prog).
Hints:
- Programming is approx. as fast as with a parallel ISP programmer
- At Windows XP there is no driver installation needed, at Windows 2000 or Windows 98 usually the shipped driver need to be installed.
- Windows installs then a virtual RS232 interface to your system which then is being used by the programming software.
- The programmer software buildt into Bascom does not really support this serial programming interface. Because of this we ship a another programming software. Just develop and compile with Bascom, then send the program to the controller with ours.
- This serial programming interface includes its own microcontroller. This controller knows many but not all microcontroller. Please check if your microcontroller ist included. Supported are the following controller: AT90S1200, AT90S2313, AT90S2323, AT90S2333, AT90S2343, AT90S4414

If your controller is not shown, it is not supported (yet?). Then you better use the parallel programming adapter (our item E-H003a) as this is supporting ALL Atmel microcontroller.
