There is probably no less expensive solution available to connect your microcontroller solution (3,3 Volt up to 5 Volt) to the network or to the internet. Connecting is so easy - all done by the specialized chip on the PCB. Just connect an ethernet cable to the connector and write a few lines of software. This W812MJ module from Wiznet is the perfect add on - without all the teething problems the predecessor module W810MJ had. Module comes with 2.54mm (0.1") spacing pins - easy to connect. It also offers mounting pads for a secure fix with screws. You might add the module by using SPI (needs only 6 data lines) or by a parallel bus. Technical Data of W812MJ : 3,3 Volt, 180mA max. All ports are 5 Volt compatible, so you may contact any 5 Volt microcontroller directly 2 LEDs (red and green) buildt into the RJ45 connector showing link and data transfer 10 / 100 MBit Ethernet Size: PCB: 52 x 25 mm (2.05" x 1") Overall: 55 x 25 mm, Height: 23,5 mm (2.17" x 1" / Height: 0.93") Connection: 8 bit parallel SPI Bus Software: Samples for Bascom Basic and C will be provided
