1.5" color TFT display for your micro controller or robot or PC etc. ´ Including software usable for any micro controller / programming language
New Version 3.0:
New in 3.0: Comes with a new designed PowerBooster - so it runs from 3 to 6 Volt
New in 3.0: 20% brighter than before
New in 3.0: Switching / dimming (by PWM) control for display lighting now included - this saves you 2,50 Euro
New in 3.0: Option for termination of all data lines (this allows longer lines to display and reduces reflactions and spikes). More on termination at the end of this page.
Remark: Photos on our website are not updated and are showing version 2.0. Size and general look of version 3.0 is identical. The electronics changed, that's all. These will be updated soon.

Comes with mounting frame on PCB which can be removed easily to allow smallest size.
Our module D011 including PowerBooster is a complete display module with minimal size. This is the smallest 1.5" color display prepared for micro controller usage on the market! This module includes our PowerBooster which creates the needed higher voltage automatically. This is the reason you can run this display from 3 Volts up to 5 Volts supply voltage, the Microcontroller signals can also work from 3 Volt to 5 Volt.
Caution: his display type has reached end of life. It shall not be used for new projects as the display can not be reordered by us. Thus we allow a maximum of 1 item per customer only. Please use the 2.1" TFT module instead.
The board and the connectors are completely mounted behind the display. The mounting frame can be easily removed (see picture on left side).
The software we delivaer is written in Basic and in C so anybody can easily adapt it to its own mikrocontroller whether it is a PIC, a C-Control, a ARM or Atmel AVR controller. We did not use special commands etc. - so do not be afraid of porting it to other systems or languages. It could be done very quickly without any hassle. Even a beginner can adapt it to any other system or programming language. As we said: no special commands.
We ship:
complete, tested module including double sided PCB and electronics with display and display controller. Just add the cables for the micro controller and you are done (if you need a module with integrated microcontroller check our products like item D061, D062x etc.)
Optional switching or PWM option for display lighting (just select this option below the shown price) - New in V 3.0: this option is now included without extra charge
CD with heavily commented Basic and C (WinAVR) software showing you everything you can do with the display
Including free license of our graphics converter E-S030 (= no extra charge)
Detailed hints for porting the software to other systems
Hints for connection and usage
Detailed documentation about how to use, how to program and explanation of our sample software routines (more than 50 pages)
Original Bascom-Basic Compiler with 4KByte code-limitation
WinAVR C-compiler on CD (full version: open source)
Information on purchasing multiple display modules: If you purchase multiple copies of this module you will nonetheless receive only one license for the software and the graphics converter. This is no problem of course if you want the use this software inside the same company (the license includes a multiple usage in the same company - if it is in the same city!). If you plan to redistribute the modules with software or if you want to use it in an affiliate in another city or country, you need another new license. Please contact us for details.
technical data / specs:
overall size including display: 51 x 40 mm (2" x 1,57"), height 8mm (0,3); with mounting frame
39 x 40 mm (1,5" x 1.57"), height 9mm (0,3"); with removed mounting frame active screen size of the display: 1,5" (38 mm)
Power: approx. 3 to 6 Volts (with regulator), approx. 40 mA
Signals from micro controller: does not matter: 2,5 up to 5 Volt
Depending on the used controller and speed the frequency for driving the display varies. However, even an 8 bit Atmel runs the display with 8 Mhz. You may use cable length up tp a maximum of 15-20 cm (approx. 6-8 inch), everything longer will result in signal reflections at the device, thus your display will not work due to an unusable signal quality. The picture beside shows an unterminated signal line on a 50cm (20 inch) cable on a D011, it is obvious, that this low quality signal with lots of ringing will result in a non-reliable connection.
The picture below shows exactly the same configuration but with a terminated line at the display module.
Again: with cable lengths of max. 10-15 cm (max. 4-6") a termination usually is not needed (but will not harm the signal) - longer signal cables will need termination.
As the display needs four data lines, there are also four single terminations needed. Each consists of a capacitor and a resistor. The new D011 (V3) comes with a prepared PCB for the termination. As of the small available space we had to use very small 603 size for the capacitors and resistors. If you order the D011 included with termination (you may add this option at the right side at the top of this page), we will deliver the board with all eight soldered termination parts. The part values used has been selected for general usage: cable length up to 50 cm (20 inch), frequency up to the maximum the display works with (max. clock rate is 13 Mhz), rise time 2-5 ns.
The termination also has the positive side effect, that it reduces short spikes which otherwise could disturb the communication and the display data.
